Hallo Simon,
It's not sufficient to know English when listening to this chap. I've not the faintest idea what he was singing about.
Even understanding the Dubliners is not an easy job.

Yeah...you're not alone though. Even I have to listen a few times occasionally.
He isn't known for his clear enunciation though and deliberately slurs.
